W.O.W.(Word of the Week): Limits

Hi! Barbara Cookson here with the Happy Healthy Being Blog word of the week!!!! This week's word is limits.  WEll, this week I had a big AHA moment as Oprah would say.  someone said to me, “Barb, “The sky is the limit is a limiting belief”.   WOW! It hit me that that is so true! We limit ourselves and our possibilities by defining that we have limits. Now I know that phrase is supposed to motivate to shoot for the stars,

or the sky is the limit, but it’s seriously limiting to believe there is a stopping point for our possibilities.  Do you think Helen Keller had limits??? Sylvia Hartmann says: “If you are HUMAN, then the limit of what you can do, what you learn, what you can experience HAS NOT YET BEEN REACHED.”  Awesome. lets think in terms of limitless, not limits.  Les Brown said, The only limits to the possibilities in your life tomorrow are the buts you use today.  B-U-T. “But I can’t, but I don’t know how, but-but-but.  In my car, I have a tiny wind chime hanging on the rear view mirror.  It quietly chimes as I’m driving.  On it, it says, “Breathe, believe, all things are possible.”  Every morning when I get in my car to go teach my class, I hold it, and read it and think all things are possible.  Is there something you want to learn? or do? or be? Somewhere, someone has done it, been it or learned it.  If it’s possible for one, it’s possible for all.  NO LIMITS. Peter McWilliams says Don't accept the limitations of other people who claim things are 'unchangeable'. If it's written in stone, bring your hammer and chisel.”  Lets not allow ourselves to be limited by what others say that may stunt our growth and progress.  and definitely don’t do the limiting yourself with the buts and can’ts.  You are limitless.
